PACKAGED STRAIGHT FROM THE FIELD
Machine harvesting of Brussels sprouts
The stalks on which the Brussels sprouts grow are cut from the stem with a saw blade.
These stalks are then manually inserted into the cutting head, where
a set of rotating blades separate the sprouts from the stalks.
The sprouts are then transported to the machine’s storage hopper on a conveyor belt.
This hopper can hold up to 10,000 kg of Brussels sprouts.
Once the hopper is full, it is emptied into a bin or tipping trailer.
The latest 4-row machines are equipped with an integrated optical grader that removes poor-quality sprouts immediately after harvesting, in the field.
Thanks to their wide caterpillar tyres, the 4-row machines can be operated even in rainy or muddy weather conditions.
Grading
Deman twin roller graders facilitate various grading options.
Grades: primarily 15-25 / 25-30 / 30-35 / 35-41, other diameters possible.
Capacity: 10,000 kg/hour/roller grader => 20,000 kg/hour.
Tomra and Deman optical graders.
Manual post-grading inspection.
The Brussels sprouts are refrigerated.
The Brussels sprouts are delivered to the processing industry and/or packaged at our packaging partners: TRYPOL PACK bv.
