Growing courgettes
for the fresh produce market

Our pickers grade the courgettes during the harvesting process in the field. This means that each courgette is immediately put into the right crate for its grade:
 • 14 pcs. / 18 pcs. (5kg)
 • 36 pcs. (10kg)

During the grading process, any courgettes that have suffered wind damage or lost their tops are put on the conveyor designated for the processing industry.

The full crates are lifted onto the conveyor belt by the pickers.

Each crate is weighed on the machine to guarantee a minimum weight of 5 kg, inspected and then put on a pallet in the cage on the carousel.

Harvesting courgettes for the processing industry

Courgettes intended for the processing industry are cut from the plants by hand and placed on the harvesting conveyor.

The courgettes are then transported to the bins on the carousel.

The full bins are then placed on the trailer, two at a time.

We pay attention to the following points during harvesting:

The tops should be cut off the courgettes.

Any flowers should be discarded.

Grading courgettes for the processing industry

FEED CONVEYOR
This machine brings the courgettes stored outside in bulk into the warehouse in a uniform manner.

PURPOSE OF THE PRE-GRADER
To pick out any courgettes with diameters above 60mm.
To remove the flowers.

ROLLER GRADER
This machine grades the courgettes according to the diameter ordered by
the customer.

TYPICAL GRADES
Small: 20-40 / 20-45 / 20-50
Large: 40-60
